From the wounded soil of a divided Bengal, Ghatak shaped cinema out of tears and dreams—believing that even wounds carry music, and that history learns its lessons through that music.
On January 9 and 10, Ghatak returns to Thrissur—this time through screenings with Malayalam subtitles. The films will be screened at the Thrissur District Sports Council Auditorium.
Over these two days, I. Shanmukha Das, Dr. C. S. Venkateswaran, Dr. Kavitha Balakrishnan, G. P. Ramachandran, P. Premachandran, and K. A. Mohandas will engage in conversations that revisit Ghatak’s cinema, ideas, and enduring relevance.
